People often ask what a day at the yard actually looks like. The honest answer is: it’s long, it’s detailed, and it’s built around the horses.
Days start early with feeds and yard checks. Schooling sessions begin from around 8am — usually a mix of flatwork, jumping and fitness work depending on where each horse is in its programme. Hacking around the farm and the local lanes is a key part of building the older horses’ fitness while keeping their minds happy.
Afternoons bring more schooling, vet visits, physio sessions, and the constant routine of keeping the yard immaculate. Evenings end with late checks and a final walk round the boxes before the lights go off. It’s a full day. It’s a privilege.
